Online Course Getting Acquainted with Ethics in South African Engineering - IN-HOUSE ONLINE ON DEMAND ONLY
This 1-day course will review common issues surrounding professionalism, behaviour and ethics in today’s engineering environment.
It will assist Engineering Practitioners to understand and apply professional and ethical behaviour, how this impacts on the state of the industry and how to recognise and challenge unethical behaviour.

- How to act ethically in terms of both professional and generally accepted principles
- Principles of professional ethics
- General business ethics
- Related South African legislation
- Engineering ethical standards in Southern Africa

Our Facilitator
Stewart Gibson
Pr Eng, Fellow of SAICE
Stewart Gibson trained and qualified as a Civil Engineer in the UK before moving to South Africa in 1974 to join a major consultancy group, eventually becoming a Group Director where his responsibilities included risk management and international tendering. After 25 years with the group, he left and formed his own company advising municipalities on ways of improving their service delivery. During this time, in addition to advising on municipal systems and contract management, he was a member of project teams implementing and monitoring several PPP style contracts. Stewart is registered with ECSA as Pr Eng and is a Fellow of SAICE, he has experience as an ECSA assessor and reviewer.
