Nompumelelo Bofu

BSc Electrical Engineering, MBA, Pr Eng, Pr CPM

Nompumelelo Bofu obtained a BSc Electrical Engineering (Hons) in 1993 and MBA in 2008. She has been involved in the Long-Term Sub-transmission Studies for the Northern and Southern areas and carried out the Long-Term Transmission Expansion Plans for ZESA adequacy over two decades, which entailed a production of least cost transmission expansion plans to complement the Generation Explanation Plan and the load forecast for the period. Nompumelelo has also been involved in the design, construction and project management of electricity transmission, distribution, power generation and water infrastructure. Nompumelelo has a strong Control & Instrumentation background, having worked in industry as an Instruments, Control and Automation Engineer, as well as working on several high-profile projects.

Andrew Brodie Andrew Brodie NHD in Civil Engineering BSC Degree in Civil Engineering Andrew Brodie graduated with a National Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering in 1993 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering in 1998. He has over 20 years of experience in design, project management and supervision of civil, structural and geotechnical projects. He has worked in both the municipal and private engineering sectors and has significant experience in the design and implementation of urban and rural engineering services. He is a registered Professional Engineer and a member of SAICE.
Ken Bromfield

Ken Bromfield is a registered professional engineer with ECSA and a registered professional construction project manager with SACPCMP. He has had extensive experience in the waste management field, having managed various waste management companies and worked as a consultant on tailings and waste projects for several years.

Janet Channing

BA MPhil NDPV, PhD Tax Policy

Dr Janet Channing is a registered professional property valuer, serves on the provincial executive of the SA Institute of Valuers and brings a wealth of experience in local government support and project management. She holds a Bachelor of Science, Master of Philosophy and earned her PhD in Tax Policy in 2025. Her dedication and hard work have culminated in the research of ‘The current and potential roles of municipal registers of properties in South Africa’.

Janet is an accredited trainer, moderator and assessor, as well as a registered Civil Commercial Mediator.

Rob Childs

Rob Childs Rob Childs obtained his BSc Civil Engineering from Teesside University in England, a Graduate Diploma in Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Graduate Certificate in Asset Management from the Institute of Quality Asset Management. Rob is a professional engineer, project manager and infrastructure asset manager with 40 years experience in civil infrastructure and buildings in Southern Africa, the Middle and Far East, and the UK. His focus in the last 20 years has been on providing advice in the strategic management of public infrastructure and property portfolios across all sectors and spheres of government. He has contributed to a number of published infrastructure asset management guidelines, is a council member of the Southern African Asset Management Association (SAAMA), and a director of the World Partners in Asset Management (WPiAM).

Peter Dacomb

As a recognized authority in planning legislation, Peter John Dacomb is a distinguished Professional Town and Regional Planner with over 36 years of executive experience specializing in spatial planning and land use management. Serving as a longstanding Director at The Practice Group (Pty) Ltd and African Development Planning Consultants (Pty) Ltd, he has orchestrated major urban land developments, strategic mixed-use precincts, and statutory planning frameworks across Southern Africa. He holds a BSc in Town and Regional Planning from the University of Pretoria, a Certificate in Integrated Environmental Management Theory and Practice from the University of Cape Town and a Certificate in Property Development and Management from the Technikon RSA. Peter Dacomb is a registered Professional Planner with the South African Council for Planners (SACPLAN). He currently serves as the Chairperson for the South African Association of Consulting Professional Planners and has provided extensive expert witness testimonies before numerous courts and municipal tribunals. Notably, has significantly influenced national policies as a co-author.

Theuns Eloff

BIng(Civil)

Theuns completed his BIng(Civil) degree at the Rand Afrikaans University and started his engineering career as a civil contractor. He was involved in the construction, rehabilitation and resurfacing of roads and has extensive experience in major earthworks, construction of dams, open cast mines and contract management.

Werner Fourie

Pr Pln, GPrGISc, PMP

Werner Fourie directs i @ Consulting’s urban and regional planning unit. A Professional Planner (Pr. Pln), Professional GIS Practitioner (Pr GISc), and Project Management Professional (PMP), he has more than 20 years’ experience in strategic and land use planning, combining built-environment insight with GIS-based technical analysis.
He applies spatial quantitative methods, including bid rent, gravity, property value and density-impact analysis, to solve urban and regional challenges. Werner has presented on GIS nationally and is regularly invited as a keynote speaker at South African conferences.
A leading SPLUMA land use planning expert, Werner has helped draft innovative schemes addressing informality and linking spatial planning with land use management. His municipal work and i @ Consulting’s multidisciplinary team give him an integrated understanding of local government programmes, datasets and operations. He also regularly provides SPLUMA and Land Use Scheme training to the planning industry.

Fred Fryer

ND, MBA, DBA, Pr Tech Eng

Dr Fred Fryer started his career in 1982 as an apprentice electrician at the Alberton Municipality Electrical Department. With a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering and a Doctorate in Business Administration, Fred Fryer Pr Tech Eng performed the function of Divisional Head: Energy Revenue (electricity technical) for a period of 15 years in the City of Ekurhuleni. He has led a diverse team of highly talented officials, and this team became instrumental in analysing every step in the electricity revenue value chain until the most efficient processes were designed and documented. The written details were captured into electronic business process management systems that safeguarded the management of large volumes into unchangeable standard processes. Close cooperation with Finance officials ensured that Energy aided Finance in achieving optimum collection levels. Dr Fryer can now share the wealth of knowledge accumulated in this field.

Thando Hlanguza

Thando Hlanguza

B Tech

Thando Hlanguza is the EPWP Sector Manager at Naidu consulting and manages the Economic Development Division. He holds a BTech in Civil Engineering. With over 10 years’ experience with the public sector on the implementation of EPWP and Labour-Intensive Construction Projects, he is an accredited NQF facilitator and assessor and provides training on the LIC courses at Naidu Consulting.

Patrick Maisiri

BSc (hons) in Civil Engineering, Pr Eng, Pr CPM

Patrick Maisiri obtained his BSc (hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of Zimbabwe in 1993. He started his career at the Department of Water Development in Harare, and also worked at the Zimbabwe National Water Authority before moving to Windhoek where he worked at a consulting firm. In 2005 he moved to South Africa where he held senior management positions at Water Boards, the DBSA, AngloGold Ashanti and consulting firms. He has worked on major pipeline projects as senior project and design engineer in various provinces.

Patrick is registered as a Professional Engineer with ECSA, a Professional Construction Project Manager with SACPCMP, and is a member of SAICE.

Ronnie Mckenzie

PhD, BSc (Civil), PrEng, CEng, MICE, FSAICE, FWISA, FIWA

Dr Ronnie Mckenzie is a civil engineer with over 40 years of experience in water resources and water loss management. With a BSc in Civil Engineering and a PhD in Water Resources Planning, he has led major leakage reduction and pressure control initiatives since introducing BABE procedures to South Africa in 1994. He developed widely used leakage benchmarking software and Water Research Commission models, contributed to landmark projects including Khayelitsha and Sebokeng/Evaton, delivered over 80 workshops worldwide, supported organisations such as the World Bank, EIB, UN, MWA of Thailand, and GiZ. Ronnie is a fellow of the International Water Association, WISA and SAICE and has received many national and international awards for his work in both water resource planning and water loss management.

Orapeleng S. Moseneke​

Orapeleng Moseneke completed his ND: Building Surveying at CPUT in 1993, followed by a NHD: Building Surveying in 1995. In 2001 and 2002, he completed a Certificate in Project Management in the Built Environment at UP and the Management Advancement Programme (MAP 50) at Wits Business School. In 2016 he completed the Certificate in Construction Adjudication at the University of Pretoria. With over 10 years in Construction Project Management, 15+ years in Construction Management and 5 years in Programme Management, he has worked as Contracts Manager and Building Estimator for blue chip companies, and also worked in the Public Sector with the Independent Development Trust (IDT) as Portfolio Manager and with the Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) as Development Manager. His experience with SACPCMP as Assessor, Moderator and Interviewer spans over a decade.
